A New Therapist Comes to the Culver City Community

When a family grows, it’s always an exciting moment. This month the Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will expand as it welcomes Valerie “Billie” Klayman, M. A., a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Martin Feinberg, Realtor appreciates growth in all of its forms, especially when it benefits the same community that Culver City Real Estate serves.

Ms. Klayman has been a fully licensed therapist since July 2012. She has worked with the Antioch University Counseling Center since March 2006 and has supervised trainees and interns at the Counseling Center since 2014. Ms. Klayman is knowledgeable in working in a diverse community, specifically with youth, veterans, people of color and LGBT. She identifies herself as a Meaning Centered Therapist. One of her models is Aristotle who said, “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and the end of human existence.”

It was through Ms. Klayman’s relationship with Antioch University Counseling Center that a partnership between it and the Culver City Senior Center was created.   Support groups at the Center focus on the difficulties of aging and how to have meaning during the process. Change is difficult, and Martin Feinberg Culver City Realtor agrees that having support during such times can make all the difference.

Ms. Klayman will be available on Wednesday and Friday afternoons at the Senior Center located at 4095 Overland Ave. She can also be reached by phone at (310) 253-6717.
