Culver City Looking for Party in the Park Volunteers for Saturday Celebration

Image is of illustrated raised hands in the color blue against a white background.Culver City’s Birthday Party in the Park is coming this Saturday and event organizers are looking for a little help. Specifically, Party in the Park volunteers are needed to help set up the Centennial Information Booth, assist the organizers, monitor parking, dining areas, and other activities. Martin Feinberg, Culver City Realtor, knows it’s going to be a great party, like all City celebrations held in the Culver City Real Estate area are.

The City is seeking party in the park volunteers to help with 12 different areas/activities. These are:

1 – General Assistance, Sept. 15-16

The City needs adults to help with arranging tables and chairs, hanging banners and signs, and general park setup on Sept.15.  Check-in time has not been determined yet.  The City needs students to help with tent and booth setup on Sept. 16. Check-in time is 9 a.m., shift will be over by 11 a.m.

 2 – Health and Wellness Setup

The City needs student or adult to assist with setting up space and making sure needs are met. Check-in time is 9 a.m., shift will be over by 11 a.m..

 3 – Arts and Crafts Booth (Rock Painting)

The City needs students or adults to assist at booth and make sure they have needed supplies. Check-in time (first shift) 10:30 a.m., shift will be over by 1 p.m. Check-in time (second shift) 2:30 p.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m.

 4 – Bicycle Valet

The City needs students to monitor the booth. Check-in time (first shift) 10:30 a.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m.  Check-in time (second shift) 2:30 p.m., shift will be over by 8 p.m.

 5 – Films/Videos

The City needs students or adults to monitor the Multi-Purpose Room and to assist the L.A. Consulting Group with presenting videos of “Man in the Street” interviews.. Check-in time (first shift) 10:30 a.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m.  Check-in time (second shift) 2:30 p.m., shift will be over by 8 p.m.

6 – Baking Contest (Teen Center) 

The City needs students to help set up the room and keep it neat. Check-in time (first shift) 10:30 a.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m.

 7 – Entertainment (Stage Manager)

The City needs adults to assist with managing the entertainment, as needed. Check-in time (first shift) 10:30 a.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m.  Check-in time (second shift) 2:30 p.m., shift will be over by 8 p.m.

 8 – Pole Banner Presentations

The City needs students to assist on stage with presentation of street pole banners to the student designers. Check-in time 1:30 a.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m. 

 9 – Volunteer Check-In

The City needs adults helping check in volunteers and directing them to their assigned areas. Check-in time 10:30 a.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m.

 10 – Information Booth

The City needs student and adult volunteers to hand out event programs and assist in providing information. Check-in time 10:30am, shift will be over by 3 p.m.

 11 – Dining Tent

The City needs students to monitor the booth and provide ongoing trash cleanup. Check-in time (first shift) 10:30 a.m, shift will be over by 3 p.m.  Check-in time (second shift) 2:30 p.m., shift will be over by 8 p.m.

 12 – Parking

The City needs adults to monitor the assigned parking spaces and direct others to the Sony parking structure. Check-in time (first shift) 10:30 a.m., shift will be over by 3 p.m. Check-in time (second shift) 2:30 p.m., shift will be over by 7 p.m.

All Party in the Park volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Volunteer shifts will last at least two hours but may go longer. The Culver City Centennial Celebration “Birthday Party in the Park” will take place on Saturday 16 at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
