The league is sponsored by the Culver City Dept. of Parks, Recreation and Community Services. It’s open to men, ages 55 and older, and women, 45 and up.

League commissioner Rich Jebejian, who is 80, stated, “We are always looking for new women and men to join our league. Our best years may be in the rear-view mirror, but we play as if the clock has been turned back.  We tease each other and have a great time.”

Though some players are drafted in to the Culver City Senior Softball Association, seniors of all abilities are invited to participate during any Saturday and Sunday morning practice or game; they can play full or part time. The activities start at 9 a.m. at Veterans Park, 4117 Overland Ave., in the Culver City Real Estate area.

“The competitiveness and comradeship with fellow teammates are why I play in Culver City.  After a while, you get to know every player.  It’s a lot of fun,” said Hensley.

Local listing agent Martin Feinberg suggests that interested seniors email Rich Jebejian at Richard.CCSB@ca.rr.com, or call at 323-935-4795, for more information.
