The City Council of Culver City presented Sony Pictures Entertainment a Commendation in recognition for its donation of a digital projection system for the auditorium in Veterans Memorial Building. The Commendation was presented to the company on December 11 as an acknowledgment of Sony’s longstanding tradition of generosity towards Culver City.

Culver City Mayor Jeffrey Cooper stated, “Sony Pictures Entertainment has been a generous partner and sponsor for many of the City of Culver City’s distinguished programs and events. This contribution of a new projection system for the Veterans Memorial Building will be a tremendous asset for the City.”

Martin Feinberg, Culver City Realtor, was excited to learn that the new equipment includes a digital projector and lens, perforated projection screen, Blu-ray player, portable sound system, and all other related hardware necessary to present screenings in the auditorium.

Per Mayor Cooper, “the user-friendly digital projection system will benefit residents, businesses, and visitors as well as attract film festivals and more special events to the City.”

The City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department accepted the equipment, and Sony Pictures Entertainment Worldwide Global Policy and External Affairs and Media Services Departments helped City Staff with set up and installation.

“As a longstanding member of the Culver City community, Sony Pictures Entertainment saw an opportunity to maximize the potential of this wonderful space. With the help of Lane Burch and our impressive Media Services Team, we were able to add the equipment and expertise to transform the facility into a world-class screening room that hundreds of people can enjoy,” said Janice Pober, Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Social Responsibility, Sony Pictures Entertainment.
