Recognition for Culver City High School Academy of Visual and Performing Arts

Culver City has always had an excellent relationship with cinema and the performing arts. This is especially true when it comes to the Culver City School District, which offers its students many opportunities to develop their visual and performing arts skills. It is one of the many reasons that Culver City Real Estate is highly sought after.

Highlighting that focus, students from the Culver City High School Academy of Visual and Performing Arts recently attended the California Educational Theatre Association High School Theatre Festival. The three-day festival, held in January, offered students the chance to participate in workshops led by professionals in the industry, nurture their talent among their peers, and also receive recognition for fall productions. Martin Feinberg, Realtor, recognizes the importance of working to improve one’s skills and abilities.

At this year’s festival 14 Culver City AVPA students were honored with Certificates of Merit for their work on Almost, Maine, a romantic comedy set on the border of the Maine and Canada. The performance was presented in November.

Martin Feinberg, Culver City Realtor, would like to offer congratulations to Carly Shiever (Rhonda), Evan Wasser (Dave), Gabe Lobet (Randy), Ben Hilsberg (Chad), Erin Hamill (Marvalyn), Owen Jones (Steve), Hazel Cupp (Sandrine), Dillon Zehnder (Phil), Joey O’Neal (East), Isa Berliner (Glory), Henry Rehor (Jimmy), Sarah Toutounchian (Waitress), Rebecca Mirvish (Stage Manager) and Simon Johnson (Production Manager). Theatre teacher Jill Novick, Creative Director of Theatre AVPA, said the recognition was well deserved.
