Martin Feinberg, Culver City Realtor, is happy to learn that the $300 million Ivy Station Complex, one of the biggest transit-related projects in the L.A. area, will be beginning soon. The complex will have apartments, restaurants, an office building, and a hotel. It will also include underground parking. It is expected to be completed by late 2019.
Developers decided to build the Ivy Station Complex in Culver City because they believe that the community is ideally placed along the Metro Expo line, being almost exactly halfway between Santa Monica and Downtown L.A. It is a convenient place to pick up commuters who don’t want to live in either area because of expenses or being to urban.
According to developer Tom Wulf, senior vice president of Lowe Enterprises, “We’re a lower price point for people who don’t want to live in urban downtown or folks who work in Santa Monica.”
Lowe Enterprises won the competition, hosted by Culver City, to build the 500,000 square feet station. It will cover 20 acres and eventually be a $1 billion cluster, including 200 apartments, a 148-room hotel, 200 square feet of office space, and 1,500 parking spaces—300 set aside for Metro passengers.
People living in the Culver City Real Estate area will benefit from the new station. Per Jonathon Watts, one of the architects for the project, “People can arrive at Ivy Station by car, bike, skateboard, or train.” Martin Feinberg, Realtor, is excited for the opportunities the new station will bring to the community.
