Celebrate Independence Day safely and enjoy a professional and spectacular display of fireworks with your family.

Beginning at dusk on July 4, the Culver City Exchange Club’s 50th annual July 4 Fireworks Show will be held once again at West Los Angeles College (near the intersection of Overland Ave and Jefferson Blvd).

Besides the folks at West Los Angeles College, the show is being held in conjunction with the City of Culver City and the County of Los Angeles. Residents of Culver City and visitors are all welcome to come and enjoy the show and celebrate the holiday.

Parking for the event is $10 and located on the West LA College campus (gates will open at 4 pm). Handicapped parking is available. Also, a $5/person donation is suggested, but not required. Some of the best viewing areas are the baseball and practice fields.

Kids will be entertained before the show with carnival games and a kids zone. Gourmet food trucks will be available to keep your hunger at bay. There will also be a drawing for grand prizes, such as a luxury weekend in Las Vegas, a big screen TV and an aerial tour of Los Angeles.

Entertainment begins at 6pm with Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps.

Visitors are allowed to bring coolers, but no alcoholic beverages or class bottles are allowed. Also, no smoking, pets, tents or umbrellas.

The Culver City Police Department would like to remind everyone that “the sale and possession of all fireworks is illegal in Culver City, and includes the so called “safe and sane” fireworks. All violators will be subject to fines and arrest if caught displaying or in possession of fireworks.”

For those planning on taking public transportation, please note that the Culver City Green Bus will not run a special shuttle and the #4 Route will not be in service. However, the #3 Route will be in service and be running on the Holiday Schedule.
