Culver City’s general municipal election will take place on April 10. In preparation for Election Day residents need to be aware of two deadlines over the next three weeks that could impact their ability to participate fully in this year’s Culver City Real Estate area contest. According to the City’s website, these two dates are:
“March 26, 2018: Deadline to register to vote for Culver City Municipal Election. Check your voter registration status online. If you have moved, changed your name, or if your signature may have changed over time, you need to re-register!
April 3, 2018: Los Angeles Special County Election Day. You must vote separately for each election but if you are a VBM voter, you can drop off ballots for both elections at City Hall!”
April 10 is Culver City Election Day and Martin Feinberg, Culver City Realtor, notes that there are two different ways to vote. Citizens may vote in person or by mail.
There are two options available to vote in person. First, residents can go to their polling place and physically vote there. As a reminder, “polling place can be found on the back cover of the Voter Information Guide (VIG), online using the LA County Polling Place Locator, or by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 310-253-5851.” Those with lost ballots or who end up at the wrong precinct can still vote provisionally.
The second option to vote in person is to drop off your Vote By Mail in person at any polling place in the City on Election Day. A list of polling places is located on page 2 of the Vote By Mail guide. Ballots can also be dropped off at City Hall.
To vote by mail “apply using the VBM application found on the back of the Voter Information Guide, online or at the City Clerk’s Office. Return the application to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:30 PM on April 3, 2018. Apply for permanent VBM status at the LA County website.”
After receiving VBM status, voters can complete their VBM ballots and return them by mail (no postage necessary) or they can drop their ballot off early in the drop-off box at City Hall at 9770 Culver Blvd, 1st Floor Lobby during regular business hours, Monday-Thursday and alternate Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 15 minute dedicated parking for Ballot drop offs is available. LA County ballots can be dropped off at City Hall as well.
Election results on Election Day will be posted on the website and also electronically as soon as they are updated. Local real estate listing agent Martin Feinberg encourages all residents to make their vote count this election season.
