Fellow Culver City residents who are interested in our justice system: there will be a very informative program provided to you locally. This particular program will be discussing the death penalty at the Culver- Palms United Methodist Church on April 17 from 12pm to 1:30pm. The church is located at 4464 Sepulveda Blvd.
Walter Johnson will be the speaker. He has been a social justice activist for as long as I can remember. Walter has dedicated his life to studying the issues surrounding the death penalty…..very different from what I have dedicated my life to. As many of you know, I have worked almost 30 years as a Culver City Realtor selling homes for sale in Culver City and condos for sale in Culver City.
Johnson’s topic “Justice that Works” is what he will mainly focus on. He is a dedicated individual who is determined to repair America’s faulty criminal system. Ideally, he would like to replace the death penalty with life in prison with no option of parole. This would not only save billions of dollars to tax payers, but also pay restitution to the victims affected by the crimes committed.
The organization will be collecting signatures for an initiative to replace the Death Penalty in the state of California on the November 2016 ballot.
Lunch by the Mexican restaurant chain ‘El Pollo Loco’ will be provided for guests, however this is optional, and a donation of $8 is encouraged. To RSVP email culverpalmsumc@yahoo.com or call 310-390-7717.
