Dave LaRose, the Culver City Unified School District’s Superintendent unexpectedly notified the Board of Education that he will be resigning from his position at the end of the year. This all took place last week during a closed board meeting. Although we do not know the true reason why LaRose is leaving, he said the decision was personal. He also said that he does not intend on working with another school district.
Steve Levin, the Education President for the board said that he is saddened to see LaRose move on. After all, LaRose has been the head of district for the last four years. In fact, Steve Levin had nothing but kind words to say about Dave. He believes that Dave’s legacy will live on in students for years to come in the future.
LaRose was best known for advocating for children. His personal belief was that if every child is going to thrive, the whole community must come together in that effort. Communities must commit to a child’s safety, support and health. Furthermore we must both engage and challenge children. I couldn’t agree with him more.
Because of his beliefs, he was able to engage and collaborate with many charitable organizations within our community. He was honored at the 2015 Sandy Segal Youth Health Center gala for all of his efforts and commitment to the overall well being of our children.
Although Culver City Real estate is my forte, I do know a thing or two about how the Board of Education will proceed. I know they will immediately start the process of finding a future replacement. I am not too worried about how this will play out. So, for me, will go back to focusing on homes for sale in Culver City. As son soon as I hear any updates on a new superintendent for CCUSD, you can be sure that I will write another blog!
