Image is a cartoon drawing of four different female figures.Culver City Woman’s Club created in 1920, is one of the oldest philanthropic and social organizations in Culver City.  Lillian Culver, wife of city founder Harry Culver, originally founded the club.  It is approaching 100 years of service to the Culver City Real Estate area.

According to the their Facebook page, the Culver City Woman’s Club “is a non-profit social and philanthropic organization that supports a number of local charitable organizations.”

The Club supports Culver City schools by annually funding multiple scholarships to Culver City High School graduating seniors.  They also support many local charities, including Meals on Wheels, the USO, the Culver-Palms YMCA Summer Camp Program, foster children, and veteran groups.

The Culver City Woman’s Club is a part of the California Federation of Women’s Clubs and also the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, which is one of the oldest and largest volunteer organizations in the world.

Martin Feinberg, local listing agent, notes that the CC Woman’s Club hosts several fundraisers throughout the year.  These include fashion shows, ice cream socials, and yard sales.  In fact, the Culver City Woman’s Club hosted its annual Spring Fiesta Fundraiser at Casa Sanchez Mexican Restaurant in Los Angeles this past March. The fundraiser involved a fashion show, silent auction, door prizes, and shopping with vendors Karen Michelle, City Sprite, and Essential Chocolate Desserts.

Typically the Culver City Woman’s Club hosts speakers from various organizations at their monthly meetings.  Members also visit museums, art galleries, and other places of interest in the area.   Twice a week the Club hosts Women Out Walking (WOW) groups.  There are crocheting groups and lunches at local restaurants as well.

The Culver City Woman’s Club will be holding an ice cream social sometime in early summer and also a picnic in August.  Martin Feinberg, Realtor, encourages those who are interested to call 310-839-5948 for more information.
