If you, like Martin Feinberg, Realtor, have been concerned about the growing devastation caused by hurricanes in the Southern United States and other Caribbean islands, a Culver City studio is providing a way to help. Zoic Studios is holding a drive to aid Hurricane Harvey victims and today is the last day to donate.
Zoic Studies—an Emmy-winning visual effects studio—started “Road to Relief” in order to help Hurricane Harvey victims reclaim their lives after the hurricane caused widespread devastation and flooding.
The studio hopes to collect a little bit of everything, from pet supplies to food. According to the event flyer, needed donations include: non-perishable food, bottled water, toiletries, pet food, baby diapers, wipes and formula, unused children and adult clothing, and new blankets and pillows.
Zoic is partnering with Matson Shipping, who will be providing a shipping container for ground transport. This will enable Zoic to get the donated supplies to Texas. Donations are being accepted at Zoic’s Culver City studio, which is located within the Culver City Real Estate area at 3582 Eastham Drive.
The supplies will be transported from Los Angeles to Austin Texas, a distance of over 1,400 miles, where they will be given to the Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN). ADRN, an “active, empowered network of prepared churches” that “seeks to bring hope into crisis”, will then distribute the items to thousands of Harvey victims via 2,500 volunteers.
Zoic will be accepting donations at their studio today between the hours of 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Martin Feinberg, Culver City Realtor, encourages all who are able to take part.
For those who are not able to drop off physical goods, or would rather provide a monetary donation, funds can be donated by visiting https://donate.adrn.org/team/135630. According to ADRN’s website, (as of Friday morning) $3,816 of Zoic Studio’s $5,000 goal has been raised.
