The annual federal holiday celebrating the life of Martin Luther King Jr. falls on January 16th this year. In accordance and along with many other communities, Culver City-which Martin Feinberg, Realtor, is proud to serve-commemorated his legacy this past Saturday or will be doing so on Monday. Culver City held its 12th annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at the Culver City Senior Center on Saturday the 14th. This included an interfaith discussion led by members of the Culver City Area Interfaith Alliance as well as a screening of the film “King: Man of Peace in a Time of War.” Members of the Black Student Union at the Culver City High School also spoke. The event ended with actor Gerald Rivers impersonating King while giving one of his speeches and a performance by the Ocean Charter School Drummers. Martin Feinberg Culver City Realtor also enjoyed the 14th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the African American Catholic Center for Evangelization.
The annual Kingdom Day Parade will be held Monday the 16th in South Los Angeles at 11 a.m. The parade begins at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Western Avenue, proceeds west on MLK to Crenshaw Boulevard, and then turns south to Leimert Park.
