What’s Happening in Culver City this February

As a Culver City Realtor, I spend most of my time working on Culver City Homes for sale and Culver City Condos for sale. It is important, however, to get out of the office and into the community. After all, there is more to be excited about other than Culver City Real Estate. With that being said, here are 2 things that are going on in the Culver City area this February, which I find to be fantastic:

1. The Help Group, the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit of its kind in the US serving children and young adults (with special needs related to Autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse and emotional challenges) will be hosting a fantastic experience on Sunday February 21st, put on by their ‘Kids Like Me’ program.

The Disney “Frozen” themed mini camp experience will last for about four hours long and will be catering to children from 7 to 12 years old. The attendees (mostly children who have mild to severe Autism or other developmental disorders) will have a chance to form bonds and friendships with other kids who face the same challenges.

This special event will begin at 11am and go to 3pm, located at 4173 Inglewood Blvd. Please note: you must register to join. Simply email Tracy Peters at tpeters@thehelpgroup.org or call 310.751.1486 no later than February 17. The cost of the event is $25.

2. In honor of Black History Month, 8 brilliant black artists will exhibit their work at the art gallery inside Culver City’s West Los Angeles Community College.

The exhibiting artists include, Adolph “Kush” Simpson, Fred Eversley, Regina Herod, Mark Steven Greenfield, June Edmonds, Pamela Smith Hudson, Holly Tempo and Joe Lewis. The curators of the exhibit are Pamela Smith Hudson, Doug Blechner and Molly Barnes.

The best thing about the exhibt you ask? It’s free! It is currently running now, until March 24. The gallery is open from 9am to 4pm Monday through Thursday. Parking is available for $2 in the South Parking structure which is next to the campus. Tip: be sure to bring exact change or single dollar bills for parking.

For more info on the exhibit contact Doug Blechner: (310) 287-4576.
